Seeing an incorrect or missing balance in Ledger Live is often a synchronization issue rather than a security concern. Your funds remain safe on the blockchain, and your private keys stay protected on your Ledger device. Follow these steps to resolve the issue.
First, visit status.ledger.com to see if there are any ongoing service disruptions with Ledger's blockchain explorers. Next, ensure you are running the latest version of Ledger Live, as updates often fix known bugs. Always download from the official website only.
A corrupted cache can cause incorrect balance displays. Navigate to Settings > Help > Clear Cache and confirm. This forces Ledger Live to perform a full resynchronization with the blockchain, which often resolves missing transactions or incorrect balances.
If you see a $0 balance with no transaction history after re-adding an account, your Ledger device likely holds a different 24-word Secret Recovery Phrase than the one used for the original account. To fix this, restore your Ledger device using the original Secret Recovery Phrase and re-add your accounts.
Try removing the problematic account and then adding it back. Navigate to Accounts, select the account, and choose the option to remove it (this is safe and does not affect your funds). Then, go to the "Add Account" section and re-add it using your connected Ledger device.
Ensure "Discreet Mode" is disabled by clicking the eye icon in the top-right corner. Also, go to Settings > Experimental Features and disable all experimental options, as these can disrupt synchronization.
